Hello! My name is Brett, but wildly most people know me as ‘Bananas’. It’s sort of become my professional name. You’re more than welcome to call me by either!

After finishing my photography studies at RMIT in Melbourne, I moved to London to work alongside the world’s leading photographers, which was an amazing experience that I’m very grateful for.

It was during those years that I was able to develop highly technical lighting skills, as I spent most of my time working on large and dynamic sets in studio and location.

Then, craving that beach life again, I am now based in Bondi Beach, Sydney.

In my work, I’m drawn to quirkiness, fun and originality. I approach my personal projects in a very conceptual way,. usually beginning with a short story that lays a foundation for the team and talent, then on the day letting the project be free for unexpected possibilities.

Inspiration comes to me from anything and anywhere. Perhaps a leaf floated in through a window of a bar and settled on a dance floor. I might then create a short story of three tap dancers with giant leaves for hats, and begin the production of bringing the story to life.
